Rhododendron • シャクナゲ • 石楠花 • shakunage

This big shrub grows in area T, on the R side of azumaya, has whitish-lavender (our Plant Booklet lists it as ‘whitish pink corolla’) that flowers mid-May.

From Royal Horticultural SocietyR. yunnanense is an upright evergreen shrub to 5m tall, with neat, elliptic leaves to 10cm long, and small trusses of open funnel-shaped, pink or white flowers, often heavily spotted red within, in late spring.
